Position Summary:

Maintains, repairs and installs plant equipment, machinery and related facilities; maintains a variety of records; participates in special projects; and performs a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Perform preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities; identify equipment maintenance needs; record mechanical equipment readings; ensure accuracy of records. Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, and replacement of parts; order and maintain stock levels of lubricants used in plant equipment. Maintain records of plant tool and equipment history; maintain preventative maintenance records and schedules. Participate in the installation of plant equipment; participate in making modifications to equipment for maximum process performance. Install, troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems. Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including but not limited to lockout/tag out and general OSHA rules and regulations. Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and diagrams for a variety of systems and plant equipment. Continuous 5S practice within department. Conforms to all plant policies and procedures. Obeys and enforces all safety rules. Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

Basic knowledge of industrial electronics and diesel-fueled equipment. Knowledge of plant equipment and required maintenance. Fundamentals of pipefitting and fabrication. General knowledge and experience with tools and industrial plant maintenance. Read, interpret and understand technical manuals, blueprints, electrical drawings and diagrams. Diagnostics of malfunctioning equipment. Basic mathematics. Occupational hazards and safety practices. Industrial Maintenance Certificate or 2 years related experience

Conditions and Equipment:

Plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, oils, toxic chemicals and inclement weather conditions. Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; use of hands for fine work; reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing and standing for prolonged periods of time.
