MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED. Basic knowledge of general maintenance and safety issues. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively so as to communicate and follow written/oral instructions. Basic computer skills including Microsoft products.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for identifying and resolving technical problems in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, enjoy working with their hands, and show a high level of motivation for growing as a Mending Hearts team member. This position will perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks at both the East and West locations. Candidates should be able to perform general maintenance related to building maintenance, including repairs and troubleshooting mechanical equipment, electrical wiring and appliances, along with critical thinking to support agency facility policies and procedures.
KEY DUTIES
- Makes any necessary repairs or maintenance to the entire property. Unit and campus inspections. Basic repairs and maintenance. Maintain the walls. Maintain plumbing. Repair small buildings when necessary. Update equipment.
- Is responsible for building and grounds keeping.
- Coordinates third party vendors as approved and needed.
- Keeps all AC vents clean and in good order.
- Works closely with the COO to report any safety or cleaning issues and implement changes beneficial to the organization. Does Safety Inspections weekly, quarterly, and as otherwise required by policy, licensures, and accreditations.
- Researches and recommends best practices for evacuations and emergency policies and plans.
- Facilitates and monitors drills for evacuations and emergency plans.
- Monitors cleaning supplies and informs COO of needed supplies.
- Helps stock and straighten shed, freezers, and refrigerators as needed.
- Supports campus volunteer days.
- Performs other duties as requested by President/CEO, Executive Director and/or COO.
