Responsibilities include:
Respond and attend to guest repairrequests. Communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenanceissues. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment,including cleaning and lubrication. Visually inspect tools,equipment, or machines. Carry equipment (e.g., tools, radio).Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment andutility shut-offs for buildings. Maintain maintenance inventory andrequisition parts and supplies as needed. Assure each day?sactivities and problems that occur are communicated to the othershifts using approved communication programs and standards. Displaythorough knowledge of building systems, emergency response, andbuilding documentation including reading standard blue prints andelectrical schematics concerning plumbing and HVAC. Displayadvanced engineering operations skills and general mechanicalability. Display professional journeyman level expertise in atleast three of the following areas with basic skills in theremaining: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical,plumbing, carpentry and finish skills, mechanical, general buildingmanagement, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, and/orenergy conservation. Display solid knowledge and skill in the safeuse of hand and power tools and other materials required to performrepair and maintenance tasks. Safely perform highly complex repairsof the physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanicalequipment, air conditioners, refrigeration and pool heaters -ensuring all methods, materials and practices meet companystandards and Local and National codes – with little or nosupervision. Perform routine inspections of the entire property,noting safety hazards, lack of illumination, down equipment (suchas ice makers, fans, extractors, pumps), and take immediatecorrective action. Inspect and repair all mechanical equipmentincluding, but not limited to: appliances, HVAC, electrical andplumbing components, diagnose and repair of boilers, pumps andrelated components. Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performingany maintenance work. Display thorough knowledge of maintenancecontracts and vendors. Display advanced knowledge of engineeringcomputer programs related to preventative maintenance, energymanagement, and other systems, including devices that interact withsuch programs. Perform advanced troubleshooting of hotelMechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Display theability to train and mentor other engineers (e.g., Engineers I, II,and III) as necessary and supervise work in progress and act in asupervisory role in the absence of supervisors and/or management.
Display ability to perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities,including readings and rounds. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures;report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, orinjuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properlystore flammable materials. Ensure uniform and personal appearancesare clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietaryinformation, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledgeall guests according to company standards, anticipate and addressguests? service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, andthank guests with genuine appreciation. Adhere to qualityexpectations and standards. Develop and maintain positive workingrelationships with others, support team to reach common goals, andlisten and respond appropriately to the concerns of otheremployees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less thanor equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting ormovement tasks with assistance.
