The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe maintenance of, cleanliness, repairs and/or replacements on Ruby Falls’ grounds. This team member also ensures maximum productivity, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of Ruby Falls.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Coordinates or installs, inspect repairs and maintains the mechanical, electrical, heating, cooling, and plumbing. Utilize CMMS software (MaintainX) to respond to requests and track work orders, schedule preventive maintenance, and manage inventory. Perform closing duties in conjunction with the Night Supervisor. Maintain continuous monitoring of surroundings to ensure the safety and security of Ruby Falls’ guests and grounds. In accordance with Ruby Falls’ policies and procedures, respond to emergencies as needed. Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled within the CMMS system. Perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks in building, cave, and grounds. Dust, clean and sanitize facility, including restrooms, when necessary. Organizes and monitor facility maintenance operations. Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services. Review needs with appropriate management staff. Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety methods and techniques in compliance with OSHA guidelines. Monitor and control supplies. Ensure the grounds are safe before or during inclement weather. (

Ex:

Salting the parking lots.) Make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures. Keep accurate maintenance records of work performed and report to direct supervisor. Assist with setup/take down for meetings, events, or groups. Contributes to team effort by analyzing problems and accomplishing related results as needed. Attend to emergencies when necessary. Walk through cave and campus to make observations and correct any maintenance issues. Safely operate and maintain all company vehicles and equipment- Must have a valid Driver’s License. Change light bulbs, as needed Other Duties as needed or assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Skill in the operation of a variety of hand tools, equipment, etc. Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions. Ability to work with little or no supervision. Sustain long period of light to moderately heavy physical activities. Adhering to safety practices including OSHA regulations. Working under time constraints. Ability to work in tight and confined spaces. Ability to Problem-Solve. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

The Maintenance Technician will spend intermittent and continuous time sitting, walking, standing, lifting, loading/unloading, climbing a ladder, and walking on flat and uphill levels. The Maintenance Technician will spend intermittent and continuous time bending and/or twisting. The Maintenance Technician may have to do light lifting of less than twenty (20) pounds for supplies and materials occasionally to frequently. The Maintenance Technician may have to do moderate to heavy lifting of twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds occasionally to frequently. The Maintenance Technician may have to do heavy to very heavy lifting of fifty (50) to one hundred plus (100+) pounds occasionally to frequently. (With the proper safety equipment and team assistance) The Maintenance Technician will be required to wear protective equipment. The Maintenance Technician will spend intermittent and continuous time working inside of cave, building, and outdoors, including inclement weather.

Educational and Other Requirements:

High-school diploma or equivalent required. Must be 21 or older. Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance experience is desired.
