Position Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and production equipment. This role includes troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, as well as maintaining the structural integrity of the facility. The technician will also diagnose root causes of equipment failures and perform necessary adjustments or repairs to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance. Successful performance in this role supports the company’s safety, quality, and production goals, while reducing unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on production machinery and facility systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical systems. Set up, operate, maintain, and adjust production equipment to meet safety and quality standards. Investigate abnormal equipment wear and failures; determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and manuals. Understand and follow procedures for installing/removing power transmission components such as belts, chains, bushings, and sprockets. Clean and maintain vacuum systems and other production-related systems. Perform daily maintenance and janitorial activities to ensure a clean, safe, and functional facility. Inspect and maintain building infrastructure, including doors, windows, roofs, drywall, and flooring. Paint and perform minor carpentry or fabrication work as needed (e.g., benches, counters, sheds). Move furniture, equipment, and materials as required. Conduct facility condition audits and safety inspections; report and address any concerns. Use hand and power tools such as saws, drills, hoists, wrenches, levels, and measuring instruments. Interpret and work from blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals. Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage. Adhere to all company safety rules and practices. Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Support and maintain a safe, clean, and positive work environment.

Experience, Education, Certifications and Licensures:

High school diploma or GED required. 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field. Previous forklift experience required Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Solid organizational, planning, and time management skills. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working at elevations up to 40 feet. Able to work independently with minimal supervisio Comfortable using ladders, lift trucks, and scissor lifts after training.

Physical Requirements:

Constantly moves or transports items up to 50 lbs. Must be physically and mentally able to work required shift. Must be able to stand for long periods of time for up to 4 hours in length with infrequent breaks. Constantly performs duties that are repetitive in nature or require repetitive movement. Must have the ability to judge that product is moving through equipment properly. Must be able to constantly recognize product types and safety/warning material (some small in size). Constantly required to identify color coded safety & warning areas/notices (most commonly colored yellow and red and some in small print) in order to maintain a safe work environment. Constantly works in an environment that includes: seasonal heat & humidity; exposure to safety areas with moving equipment; dust/dirt; noise; vibrations from equipment; lighting differences; and occasional fumes. Constantly required to position self in order to remove or replace product and operate equipment. Frequently receives or exchanges information with management or other personnel regarding work requests or issues. Must be able to identify and react to potential hazards. Must be able to do basic math functions. Good hand and eye coordination.
