Responsibilities:

Follow all company safety policies, training, and procedures combined with standard work practices to ensure a safe work environment. Perform Preventative Maintenance inspections of mechanical systems noting any abnormalities or issues including details of condition and possible corrective action. Prompt reporting of any significant abnormalities that may cause personal harm, downtime, or damage to equipment. Using equipment manuals and drawings for guidance in machine set up, adjustments, assembly, operation, repair, part replacement, and identification of spare parts needed for current or planned repairs. Utilize standard and proper techniques, tools, and procedures to dismantle, assemble, adjust, rebuild, and repair production equipment. Respond to equipment breakdowns, analyze the problem, determine the cause, and execute the repair to safely and efficiently return the equipment to service ensuring any required follow-up is communicated to the supervisor. Fully and correctly complete all required documentation in either paper or electronic format providing sufficient details of the activity or needed follow up. Use of the CMMS for performance of PM activities, repair work creation or completion, follow up work order generation, equipment and parts research, and other activities to maximize the utilization of the system and documentation of maintenance activities. Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities to identify downtime causes and implement corrective actions to prevent or limit recurrences. Develop corrective actions for identified root causes and using technical craft skills combined with fabrication and welding to modify equipment or processes to implement the solution. Provide input for the determination of needs related to critical spare parts, special tools, and equipment to ensure the highest level of reliability of production equipment. As needed, work with cross functional teams to explore production or quality issues to determine countermeasures as part of Continuous Improvement efforts. Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with the 5L and safety guidelines. Perform proper disposal and management of determined hazardous wastes Perform proper labeling and manifesting of each hazardous waste container Perform clean up as needed in each hazardous waste area Perform weekly inspections of each hazardous waste area Assist with or perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

High school diploma or GED. Ability to understand and utilize mechanical drawings, prints, and manuals. Strong mechanical aptitude. Desire to work in a team-based environment. Must be willing to attend training to further increase knowledge of complex equipment elements such as hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and complex mechanical systems. Ability to use common mechanical tools and equipment.

Summary of Necessary Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Minimum three years related experience and/or training preferred. Basic Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Lubrication, and Welding Skills Basic Hand and Power Tool Knowledge Demonstrated ability to work with and troubleshoot mechanical devices including but not limited to the following: bearings, rollers, chain drives, gear reducers, couplings, pumps, compressors, hydraulic valves and control devices, pneumatic valves and control devices, belt drives, and conveyor belts. Familiarity with and ability to use common and advanced measurement tools such as tape measures, levels, precision straight edges, dial indicators, angle finders, tensioning tools, torque wrenches, feeler gauges, calipers, and micrometers. Basic lifting and rigging knowledge to perform job related activities safely. Forklift License Preferred, ability to operate other motorized equipment such as aerial lifts, cranes

Problem Solving Ability Working Conditions:

Job performance requires the employee to stand, lift, walk, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, grasp, push, pull and climb stairs and ladders. Lifting up to 50lbs. Exposure to moving equipment, various electrical hazards, falling hazards, dust, fumes, and ambient temperatures of + or•10 to 15 degrees. Personal Protective Equipment is required including hearing protection in the operating area, safety glasses in the operating area or when working with any flying debris or sparks potential. Welding shield, PAPR, tinted glasses, dust mask and/or respirators may be required depending on the task. Shoe requirements are Steel-Toe or Safety Toe Footwear; other footwear may be needed depending on the task. Lodge uniform or similar protective clothing is required; gloves, flame retardant coveralls and other body protection are available depending on the task. Harnesses are required when there is potential for a fall when using booms and/or on platforms.
