Maintenance Technician Job Description As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform efficient and effective maintenance activities that maximize the safe production of quality products, minimize costs, and protect the environment. Your role will involve day-to-day tasks following site goals, sustaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for equipment maintenance, and rebuilding large gearboxes, aligning pumps, and other rotary equipment rebuilds. Welding is required, though not code welding. Responsibilities Troubleshoot, fabricate, install, repair, calibrate, check, and adjust equipment, controls, facilities parts, and services to maintain the highest level of utilization. Work closely with Electrical and Instrument Technicians and Operating Technicians on site. Assist teammates in completing tasks outside the scope of typical responsibilities. Assist in maintaining parts inventory. Support site safety and security and assist in planning work with operations, contractors, and other plant personnel. Communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels in a professional manner. Maintain a respectful work environment. Understand and troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems (480V and down). Capable of unwiring and rewiring equipment for maintenance and performing basic instrument troubleshooting. Essential Skills Experience with a minimum of 2 years in the electrical and mechanical field. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, maintenance technician skills, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and PLC troubleshooting. Ability to perform welding, including electrical troubleshooting, handling 3-phase systems, laser technology, gearboxes, and industrial maintenance. Proficiency in using multimeters for industrial maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certifications in relevant maintenance or safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA). Proficiency in using maintenance management software. Experience with multi-craft repair, service, schematics, blueprints, and logistics. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an industrial manufacturing plant, working with machines, conveyors, and other equipment. The shift follows a 2-2-3 schedule, with initial training on days for 1-2 months before transitioning to nights. The typical working shift is from 7 PM to 7 AM, with 8-36 hours of overtime available per month. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vonore, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 – $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
