Maintenance Technician Position Available In Roane, Tennessee

Maintenance Technician Tennessee College of Applied Technology-Harriman 1745 Harriman Highway, Harriman, TN 37748 Responsible for maintaining a safe and functional condition of the campus buildings and grounds. This includes a range of tasks, from routine maintenance and repairs to specialized system upkeep. The maintenance technician supports the college staff and faculty by providing a safe and functional environment in which to work and learn.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of materials, methods, and principles of construction and maintenance. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Ability to perform skilled maintenance tasks (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC). Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

Performing routine and skilled maintenance tasks: This includes areas such as:

Electrical:

Rewiring outlets, replacing light bulbs, ballasts, receptacles, and switches. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems. Works with the Residential/Commercial/Industrial Electricity program or a third- party for major repairs.

Plumbing:

Replacing fixtures and drains, repairing leaks, and maintaining plumbing needs for the campus.

Carpentry:

Repairing doors and windows, minor roofing repair, and gutter maintenance. Works with the Building Construction Technology program or a third-party for major repairs.

HVAC:

Changing filters, belts, and motors for minor repairs. Maintaining and repairing HVAC systems. Works with the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration program or a third-party contractor for major repairs.

General mechanical repair:

Repairing equipment and general mechanical needs, for example, belts, motors, pulleys, and pumps. Operating and maintaining equipment and tools: Utilizing hand and power tools.

Preventive Maintenance:

Performing or overseeing routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is running correctly and building systems operate efficiently.

Salary:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience, and is in accordance with the guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
