Maintenance Mechanic Job Description The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all industrial equipment through preventative and predictive maintenance. This role involves troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment issues, ensuring the constant operation of converting equipment and lines, and participating in manufacturing process improvement initiatives. The mechanic will perform all repairs and implement technical solutions while utilizing precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, and multimeters. Responsibilities Perform maintenance on industrial equipment such as conveyors, photo eye sensors, packaging equipment, labelers, and cappers. Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly. Ensure continuous operation of converting equipment and lines. Participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives. Implement technical solutions and perform necessary repairs. Use precision measuring equipment effectively. Essential Skills Minimum 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors. Experience with 3 phase motors and mechanical repairs. Comfortable with changeovers, setups, fillers, pumps, and valves. Troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Preferably 3+ years of experience working in a GMP environment. Computer proficiency in MS Office. Best candidates have a minimum of 5 years of related manufacturing experience in an FDA-regulated facility. Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility operates nearly a million square feet of production and distribution centers, running around the clock five days a week, with national product distribution seven days a week. It is a liquid filling facility, and candidates with experience in liquid filling or packaging will find this environment advantageous. Those from the food and beverage industry will have an added advantage due to the FDA-regulated nature of the facility. Be prepared for strong odors depending on the department, such as mouthwash, lotion, or alcohol. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
