You’ll be responsible for installing, testing, and certifying low-voltage cabling systems that support data, voice, video, and wireless connectivity in commercial office environments. Ideal candidates are BICSI-certified, safety-focused, and experienced in both copper and fiber-optic installations. Key Responsibilities Cable Installation & Termination Install and terminate copper cables (CAT5e/6/6A) and fiber-optic cables to industry standards. Mount and terminate patch panels, keystone jacks, faceplates, and network enclosures. Pathway & Rack Work Install cable pathways (raceways, ladder trays, conduit) per drawings and code. Perform rack-mounting and cable-management for network equipment. Testing & Certification Conduct field tests using Fluke DSX/DTX or equivalent testers; provide detailed test reports. Certify links to meet or exceed

performance (Cat6A or specified category). Documentation & As-Built Drawings Produce accurate as-built documentation: cable schedules, punch lists, labeling schemes per TIA-606. Maintain neat, code-compliant labeling and cable-management throughout the installation. Troubleshooting & Repairs Diagnose and rectify cable faults, network connectivity issues, or pathway conflicts. Site Coordination & Safety Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration. Adhere to OSHA regulations; maintain clean, hazard-free work areas.

Required Qualifications Certifications:

BICSI Installer 1 and/or Installer 2 (or equivalent certification). OSHA-10 (minimum) or OSHA-30 safety card. Factory training certificates from major vendors (e.g., Panduit, Corning, Leviton) preferred.

Experience:

3+ years of hands-on structured cabling installs in commercial/office environments. Proven track record of completing at least 2-3 full-life-cycle cabling projects with client references.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with ANSI/TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-606, and grounding per TIA-607 standards. Skilled in using Fluke (or equivalent) cable testers and interpreting test results. Knowledge of both copper and fiber-optic splicing, termination, and testing (FOA CFOT a plus).

Professional Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. General Liability insurance (min. $1 M per occurrence) or ability to procure for project duration. Ability to pass background and drug screenings as required by project sites. Preferred Qualifications

BICSI RCDD

designation (demonstrates design as well as installation acumen). Experience with voice systems, AV cabling, access control wiring, or wireless infrastructure. Familiarity with project-management tools and ability to read/integrate CAD or BIM drawings. Additional safety certifications (e.g., scissor-lift, confined-space entry).
