If you have experience w ith rack/stack/ DC power components and are willing to work in greater Atlanta area and travel as business requires – read on and apply! Come grow with us!

  • A qualified candidate must have knowledge and experience in a cable TV headend .
  • This is NOT a network security role.
Overview:

You will support the installation and troubleshooting of telecom infrastructure within the headend and hub facilities including but not limited to the ability to perform tasks involving: Radio Frequency (RF) both active and passive and Fiber Systems, Optical Splitters, optical lasers and receivers, equipment racks, low voltage/ DC wiring, grounding, understanding of fiber guide, Unistrut/ ladder racking, structured cabling, fiber and CAT 5/6 cables. This position requires 5+ years experience with the ability to demonstrate proficient work in a Central Office environment handling complex tasks with efficiency.

Essential Job Functions:

Read and follow engineers’ instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures. Install and migrate ISP node splits. Install, configure, provision and troubleshoot a wide variety of headend equipment Ability to proficiently perform the prep and installation of connectors on fiber and coax cabling Ability to test and troubleshoot RF and optical circuits using applicable testing equipment. Ability to work independently as a team player that coordinates and communicates activities with other employees, departments, and management Travel is required depending on project needs with the ability to work longer hours or overnight for migrations and to resolve outages.

Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

Knowledge of tools, telecom ISP practices and networks. Knowledge of structured cable installation practices, dressing cables, lacing, terminations, etc. Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications and IP Networking Configuration. Knowledge of DC powering. Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, make-up of fiber optic cables, and manufacturer specifications to prevent damage of cables. Knowledge of various manufacturer’s ISP racks, cabinets, ladder rack, fiber guide and termination panels. Knowledge of cable testing procedures and test equipment. Knowledge of inside plant safety measures, including data center security processes and adhere to the measures they put in place Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure. Must be able to read and understand ISP diagrams/drawings and maintain accurate field notes. Cisco Network IP Configuration and troubleshooting skills are preferred

Education and Experience:
Education Level:

High School/GED and Technical Degree or equivalent training.

Experience:

5+ years of relevant job experience. Relevant job experience is described as job experience in similar industry or job experience with similar essential duties Must work currently or within last 90 days in the CATV network industry (Cable TV Data Centers)
