Broadband Installer Apprentice The City of Thomasville Thomasville, GA 31792 Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties pertaining to the installation and maintenance of video and data services to customer premise and equipment. Complies with all rules set forth by Thomasville Utilities. Performs new cable installations from system feeder tap port to the customer?s equipment interface. This includes aerial / underground drops and inside wiring to customer video and data equipment. Installation and provisioning of high-speed Internet services to new and existing customers via cable modem to include networking. Provides Level I data support, Troubleshoots cable modem, Ethernet network, OS and CPU equipment. Installs various software and hardware to enable customer Internet access. Troubleshoots and finds drop related problems. Replaces or rewires house drops or any part thereof when it is necessary to correct drop related problems. Educates customer of the proper operation and use of interface equipment. Provides customers with information on company services and costs. Coordinates with scheduling, dispatch, or supervisors on job status, problems encountered and rescheduling requirements. Recovers company equipment from customer?s premises when performing disconnection Is responsible for the safe care and use of company vehicles, tools and equipment at all times. Performs all duties safely in accordance with Thomasville Utilities safety policies, training and procedures. Reports all hazardous conditions to immediate supervisor for correction. Performs on-call rotation as assigned by supervisor.
