Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled CAT6 Cabling Technician to join our team for commercial low-voltage installation projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in installing, terminating, and testing CAT6 cabling in new and existing construction environments. Attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to high-quality work are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and route CAT6 cable in commercial environments (overhead, in conduit, raised floors, walls, etc.) Terminate CAT6 cables into patch panels, jacks, and keystone connectors Test and certify installed cabling using appropriate tools (e.g., Fluke tester) Label and document cable runs accurately Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings Maintain clean and safe work areas in accordance with site and OSHA guidelines Communicate effectively with team members, site supervisors, and project managers

Requirements:

2+ years of experience with structured cabling (CAT6 installation preferred) Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces if needed Proficient with hand tools, punch-down tools, and cable testers Strong organizational and time management skills Reliable transportation and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with fiber optic cabling is a plus

Tools & PPE:

Must have basic hand tools and punch-down tools Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vest required

Job Type:

Contract Pay:

$25.00 – $30.00 per hour
