Role:

We are seeking a sharp, professional, and detail-oriented Cable Technician to support a large corporate environment in Raritan, NJ. This is a long-term role expected to run through the end of the year, focused on pulling and terminating Cat 6A cabling, installing wireless access points (WAPs), and assisting with the decommissioning of legacy network infrastructure. The ideal candidate is not only technically skilled but also highly professional in appearance, communication, and conduct—a huge plus in this high-profile setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Pull, route, and terminate Cat 6A Ethernet cabling in office and data center environments. Install and mount wireless access points (WAPs) on ceilings, walls, and other surfaces. Perform testing and labeling of network cables to ensure performance and compliance. Assist with decommissioning of outdated cabling and network hardware. Maintain clean and organized workspaces, adhering to corporate safety and quality standards. Interact professionally with clients, IT staff, and building management. Document work performed, including cable maps, test results, and installation photos.

Qualifications:

1+ years of field experience in low-voltage cabling, structured cabling, or network installation. Professionalism is a must – strong communication skills, clean appearance, and a respectful attitude are highly valued. Proficient in pulling, terminating, and testing Cat 6A or similar cabling. Experience installing WAPs in commercial or enterprise environments. Familiarity with cable testers, punch-down tools, and labeling systems. Ability to read and follow floor plans, cable routes, and installation diagrams. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts as needed. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in large corporate or campus environments. Fiber optic cabling experience is a strong plus Knowledge of network closets, patch panels, and cable management best practices.
