Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support physical infrastructure across two data center locations one in Virginia and another in Secaucus, New Jersey. This individual will be responsible for basic data center maintenance, cabling, racking and stacking equipment, and providing physical support for networking hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform rack and stack of servers, switches, and other data center equipment. Rewire and organize network and power cabling following best practices. Conduct basic cleanup and physical maintenance of the data center environment. Assist with inventory tracking and hardware organization. Travel between the Virginia and Secaucus, New Jersey data centers as needed (mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed). Work under guidance from senior engineers and follow established documentation and layouts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a data center, IT infrastructure, or field support role. Basic understanding of networking and data center operations. Ability to identify, run, and label network cables. Physically able to lift and move hardware and work in a data center environment. Must be organized and able to follow technical instructions accurately. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly between two sites.
Preferred:
Prior experience working in a data center or IT support environment. Familiarity with cable management standards and basic troubleshooting. Basic knowledge of switches, routers, and patch panels.
Location:
On-site — Virginia & Secaucus, New Jersey (travel between both locations required) mileage and travel costs will be fully covered.
