REQUIRED DUTIES A

Cable TV Technician II’s role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing CATV plants, including coaxial and fiber optic cabling, electronics, and powering systems, as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. This role often includes working with residential and commercial customers, following safety procedures, and documenting work performed. Install, maintain, and repair CATV plant, including coaxial and fiber optic cabling, electronics, and powering systems. Monitor and repair signal leakage and noise ingress. Perform required FCC Signal Leakage and Proof of Performance Tests. Assists install and repair personnel in identifying and resolving customer service issues. Install, maintain, and repair site electronics, including but not limited to: satellite receivers, analog modulators, processors, receivers, encoding equipment, digital multiplex equipment, and other digital headend, IP decoders, fiber optic transmitters and receivers, and various QAM modulators. Install and maintain all outside structures related to headend and hub operations, including all types of antennas and earth stations. Installs and maintains optical transmission and transport equipment. Implement, activate, maintain, and troubleshoot CMTS and video equipment systems. Respond to plant and headend issues in an on-call situation. Be available to perform duties outside of normal business hours. All other duties as assigned by management. Education and Experience and Knowledge High School Diploma or GED 3-4 Years of Technical experience. Knowledge of Ethernet Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), Internet Protocol (IP), and Windows98NT MS Outlook Computer Skills Troubleshooting skills Ability to read and write Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
