Job Description

Low Voltage Cable Technician Industrioptics Nashville, TN 37227 Our mission is to lead the industry with state-of-the-art products and services transforming the way goods are transported, monitored, and managed. We are seeking a Low Voltage Technician to support the expansion of our surveillance and technology sales pipeline. Full-time Low Voltage Technician needed for commercial projects.

Responsibilities:

Install and troubleshoot various structured cabling systems including fiber and ethernet.

  • Assist with pre-installation checklists – equipment verification, onsite set-up, etc.
  • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
  • Terminate cables – RJ45, Coax, 110 punch-down and fiber connectors.
  • Install cabling pathways – j-hooks, cable racks, innerduct, conduits, etc.
  • Dress cables according to safety regulations and customer specifications.
  • Open-minded willingness for continual learning.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and core values.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate by management.
Required:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Must be knowledgeable in structured cabling systems.
  • Experienced in the operation of scissor and boom lifts.
  • Installation of conduit is a plus.
  • Must be knowledgeable in various wiring configurations and terminations.
  • Good communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customers.
  • Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team setting.
  • Has basic telecommunication tools, industry hand tools, and PPE.
  • Pass drug and background screenings.
  • Reliable transportation with required insurance coverage.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
Physical Demands:

Able to use general hand and power tools safely and effectively.

  • Lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs. Push and pull more significantly than 75 lbs.
  • Climb a ladder reaching at least 12 feet and use a man lift to perform services.
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions, temperature changes, and loud noises
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

will be working at a variety of Commercial and Industrial sites. These sites can include schools, offices, retail stores, industrial plants, and warehouses.

  • Each site and scope of work will be unique and add to the skillset and knowledge of the Low Voltage Cable Technician.
  • Travel may be required; reliable, insured transportation is a must.

Hiring Process (in addition to an interview): New hires must complete the I-9 Verification form within three days of being hired. Salary $20-25 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
