Diesel Mechanic Position Available In Cullman, Alabama

Energy Transport is accepting applications for a Heavy Truck Mechanic. The individual will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related equipment.

Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring vehicles and machinery are in safe working order. Some experience with heavy-duty trucks is preferred but not required. Applicants can be recent graduates from training programs. The employer will provide some of the larger needed shop equipment, but the employee will need to have personal tools. Class A CDL Preferred but not required.

Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and fixing issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components
• Conducting regular inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, and other maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns
• Using diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint the root cause of problems
• Performing necessary repairs and replacing worn or damaged parts
• Following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of diesel engine operation, maintenance, and repair
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret results
• Hands-on experience with tools and equipment used in diesel engine repair
• Ability to identify and solve complex mechanical and electrical issues
• Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, coworkers, and potentially customers
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various positions.
