Here, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs ofall levels on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles inthe industry. You will help our customers keep their vehicles inshape and on the road. As a Technician II at Penske, you are arespected technician. You are trusted to work independently whiledoing major and minor repairs, performing road tests to diagnoseproblems and completing maintenance tasks. You set an example andinformally mentor new technicians while continuing to grow yourskills from learn from other experienced techs and your manager.

Main Responsibilities:
- Making sure vehicles are maintained andsafe for our customers
- Doing preventive maintenance services ontruck and trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in atimely manner
- Repairing and troubleshooting components such as,engines, transmissions and differentials, turbochargers, fuelsystem components, etc.
- Keeping your work area clean and safe
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and completerepairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Learning new skillsthrough Penske’s technician training
- Working on other projectsand tasks as assigned by supervisor Why Penske is for

Qualifications:
- 3 years of practical experience withvehicle maintenance required
- High school diploma or equivalentpreferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repairpreferred
- Specialized training and experience in thediagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines,transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASECertification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
- Experiencedusing tools of the trade (including diagnostic equipment, handtools, and power tools)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Theability to solve problems
- Excellent customer service skills andcommunication skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Basiccomputer skills
- The associate will be required to understand andcomply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, regulations,or other information established by Penske management
- Theassociate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA,and all Penske safety and maintenance policies; including but notlimited to the correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE,machine guarding, and established best safety practice.
- Regular,predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, itis regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualificationfile to be maintained as required by the role.
The driverqualification file includes:
an annual motor vehicle records (MVR)check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and SafetyPerformance History records request from prior employers in thelast 3 years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT DrugScreening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSAClearinghouse review.
- Willingness to travel as necessary withinthe district (customers’ yards, close geographical area andtraining sites), work the required schedule, work at the specificlocation required, complete Penske employment application, submitto a background screening (to include criminal checks, pastemployment and education) and pass a drug screening.
This positionis regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated assafety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in aconstant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for theirown safety, as well as the safety of others.
