Email this job Seeking a U.S. Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse to apply for a Diesel Mechanic opportunity with our client, a growing company dedicated to making a positive environmental impact through sustainable operations. This position is essential for maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles, such as vacuum trucks. Mechanics will work closely with a small, skilled team and report directly to the Foreman.

$30-$36/hour
Location:
Homestead, FL Schedule:
M-F 6:30 AM until complete 8-12 hours a day – Guaranteed 40+ hours/week

Comprehensive benefits package Essential Duties and Accountabilities Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a 20+ unit fleet including pickup trucks, pump trucks, water trucks, and vacuum trucks.
Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues related to diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Collaborate with the lead mechanic and report to the Foreman to complete complex repairs and ensure fleet readiness.
Maintain detailed service records, manage parts inventory, and support operational uptime.
Work in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety and performance standards.
Contribute to a growing team currently composed of two mechanics. Requirements U.S. Veteran, Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse highly encouraged.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license and clean MVR required, CDL preferred.
Minimum 5 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred; exceptional candidates with fewer years but strong hands-on expertise will be considered.
Diagnostic, hydraulic, and electrical systems experience required.
Vacuum truck experience preferred.
Prior experience in the waste or environmental services industry is a plus.
Bilingual skills are a plus. Skills and Abilities Strong mechanical aptitude with diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
Proven experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment systems.
