Reefer Tech Position Available In Palm Beach, Florida

Job Description:

The pay for the position is between $ 28-$40 per hour.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00am -4:30 pm Mechanic will be responsible forthe troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the Fleet roadequipment including tractor, trailer, thermo-king, converter dollyand maintenance vehicles. Ensure compliance with all State andFederal trucking regulations. Mechanics will also be responsiblefor the documentation, completion, and to keep current themaintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. The positionwill be required to perform road rescue as needed. Troubleshoot,diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs ondiesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, liftgates, etc.). Perform preventative maintenance within companystandards. Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list andparts accountability. Handle road service calls; perform roadrescue/transport equipment as needed. Keep track of assignedrepairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system. Maintain aclean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safetyrules and regulations and government guidelines. Maintain inventoryand proper recordkeeping. Backup to other maintenance shoppersonnel. Willingness and capacity to assume increasedresponsibility and certifications. Performs other duties asassigned. Must have (3) years of verifiable hands-on experience asa heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or acombination of both; or (2) years verifiable hands-on experiencewith either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/CarrierRefrigeration Certification or both. Diagnostic and troubleshootingcompetency relating to equipment repairs. Successfully demonstratedindependent analytical and problem-solving skills. Prior experiencein administering appropriate PM program. Must furnish own personalhand tools. CDL A and DOT certified preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to comply with EPA and OSHAregulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet. Ability to readand understand technical and service manuals. Excellentcommunication skills; able to communicate with co-workers anddrivers with demonstrated teamwork skills. Ability to managemultiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment withminimal supervision. Ability to adapt to changing organizationaland operational needs. Computer and software experience. Ability towork a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Must beable to work overtime when needed. This role will also receiveovertime compensation. Compensation depends on relevant experienceand/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location,and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate forthis role is between $ 28-$40 per hour.
