Southeastern Marine is the leading mobile service center for manufacturer-authorized marine engines, propulsion systems, and stabilizers. Yacht Power is the top mobile, manufacturer-authorized service provider for marine generators. Boca Ciega Marine Center, located in Maximo Marina, is a leading full-service boatyard with significant investments being made to modernize and expand facilities. With our recent acquisition of the Maximo Boatyard, we are now able to offer a truly unique, full-service, manufacturer-certified marine service center. From bottom paint and hull repair to engine and generator servicing and full repowers, Southeastern Marine, Yacht Power, and Boca Ciega Marine Center together provide a single destination for comprehensive vessel service. We are currently seeking a Mobile Marine Diesel Technician level I, II or III with a specialization in Marine Generators to become an integral part of our growing team! This position is for an experienced and/or certified Marine Diesel Technician. Also open to non-marine generator technician who can be trained for marine. You will diagnose, repair, maintain, overhaul and install marine generators, but may also service and/or assist with diesel motors, generators, propulsions systems and/or related components. Compensation commiserate with transferrable experience and/or diesel certifications. Strong candidates without certifications will be considered, but not be able to service vessels independently until completing training, certifications and satisfactory mentorship. Responsibilities:
Driving to local marinas to maintain and repair vessels with generators. Depending on experience and demand, may also service diesel engines, pods, and transmissions or other components. Bonus if experience with gas outboards and/or generators. Diagnose, maintain and repair Marine generators, engines and propulsion systems. Must be able to perform repairs with minimal supervision with absolute attention to cleanliness and detail. Attention to detail is key. Assist with providing labor and time estimates for repairs. Analyze overall vessel condition and identify other potential maintenance or repairs that are needed for the engine, generator or propulsion systems. Record time and notes into computer at time of work, accurately and promptly is an absolute must. Participate overall in maintaining the facilities and business and/or other responsibilities as required. We operate with integrity, every day and every time. Occasional travel within the US and the Caribbean may be required for repairs and/or training.
Qualifications:
Excellent driving record Previous experience as a Marine Diesel Technician, Cummins, Yanmar, Volvo, Kohler, Fischer Panda, Norther Lights or other certification are a plus. Knowledge of computer diagnostics and repair equipment Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Strong integrity & ethics Deadline and detail-oriented Positive attitude with a good fit for overall company culture Position is Full-Time with generous 401K match, Dental, Life, Medical, Vision benefits and paid time off.
