Shop Technician Job Description We are seeking a hands-on, mechanic/technician to join our team as a mid-Level Shop Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with general mechanical experience from automotive, small engine, diesel, agricultural, or construction equipment backgrounds who are eager to learn and grow in the heavy equipment and fleet maintenance field. Responsibilities Assist with routine maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. Support senior technicians with diagnostics and repairs. Learn to use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical and electrical issues. Help with basic repairs on engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times. Occasionally assist with field service calls or job site repairs. Essential Skills Proven experience as a mechanic or technician in a similar role. General mechanical experience in automotive, diesel, small engine, or similar fields. Basic understanding of tools and mechanical systems. Willingness to learn diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfortable working in a shop environment and occasionally outdoors. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Able to stand, bend, and work on equipment for extended periods. Diesel Mechanic, Truck Mechanic, Engine Repair, Pneumatics, Power tool, Service, Diesel Technician experience. Experience with Diagnostics, Repair, Electrical, Schematic, Construction, Diesel, Hydraulics, Welding, Fabrication, Diesel engine. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, Georgia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 – $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
