General Shop Mechanic – Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck RepairTechnician – Full-Time / Baton Rouge, LA As a General ShopMechanic, you will be responsible for repairing medium toheavy-duty trucks and trailers to specific customer andindustry-standard specifications.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Perform repairs to customer vehicles and trailers Perform basic welding functions Inform customer/manager of completion times, services expenses,and possible changes Monitor the profit/loss of each job to maximize profitabilitywhile maintaining the highest standards of quality; minimizewarranty claims and re-work Submit work orders for invoicing Maintain inventory and supplies Prepare list of required replacement parts Clean work area as required and maintain equipment; Adhere toall environmental, health and safety standards
SuccessfulCandidates Will Have:
Associate’s Degree or Technical certificate in heavy-dutymechanics, (preferred) Two years of diesel mechanic experience within the heavy-dutyindustry (preferred) Automotive Service Excellence certification appropriate to thejob or equivalent (preferred) Possess your own tools and/or the willingness to purchase toolsrequired for the job (TruckPro offers a tool purchase reimbursementprogram) Valid driver’s license and/or CDL with good driving record(less than 14pts)
