Main Responsibilities:
Making sure vehicles are maintained and safefor our customers Doing preventive maintenance services on truckand trailer equipment with little or no supervision and in a timelymanner Repairing and troubleshooting major components such asengines, transmissions and differentials, including replacingcomplete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
Keeping your work area clean and safe Using Penske’s tools andtechnologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basicvehicle diagnostics Learning new skills through Penske’s techniciantraining Working on other projects and tasks as assigned bysupervisor Why Penske is for

Qualifications:
6 years of practical experience withtruck and tractor-trailer maintenance High school diploma orequivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification invehicle repair preferred Specialized training and experience in thediagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines,transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASECertification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred) Experiencedusing all tools of the trade (including welding equipment,diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools) Valid driver’slicense required, CDL preferred The ability to solve problemsExcellent customer service skills and communication skills Theability to work well as part of a team Willing to work innon-climate-controlled conditions Basic computer skills Theassociate will be required to understand and comply with specificinstructions, guidelines, rules, regulations, or other informationestablished by Penske management The associate must be able toperform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA, and all Penske safety andmaintenance policies; including but not limited to the correctselection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, andestablished best safety practice. Regular, predictable, fullattendance is an essential function of the job As this positionrequires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated bythe DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to bemaintained as required by the role.
The driver qualification fileincludes:
an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, asuccessfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance Historyrecords request from prior employers in the last 3 years.
Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
Willingness to travel as necessary within the district (customers’yards, close geographical area and training sites), work therequired schedule, work at the specific location required, completePenske employment application, submit to a background screening (toinclude criminal checks, past employment and education) and pass adrug screening This position is regulated by the Department ofTransportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company,and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in asafe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to acceptresponsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety ofothers.
