compensation: DOE employment type: experience level: mid level job title: Diesel Mechanic PMI is currently seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our TEAM. The mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and fixing electrical problems on 379, 389, 579, and 589 Peterbilts. We run Cat C-15s, Cummins X-15s, and Paccars. Needs will require the ability to diagnose and fix DPF systems as well. The mechanic will perform scheduled preventative maintenance., will troubleshoot problems and perform necessary repairs. Approximately 90% of work performed is in the mechanic shop, the remaining I0% will be roadside and or in the field on location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
. Tests, adjusts and repairs equipment to be operational . Needs to be able to strip down a part, repair, and put together . Ability to make repairs hydraulic, differential, and electrical systems . Ability to repair diesel engines . Observes mechanical devices in operation and diagnoses problems by sight and sound to resolve issues . Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts . Repairs or replaces defective parts . Lubricates and cleans parts . Request parts and machines to be ordered as needed . Ensures full awareness of, and compliance of DOT regulations with regards to vehicles as well as all company/customer policies .,-esses and interacts with others in a professional manner . Minimum Requirements . 1-3 years’ experience working as a mechanic . ASE Certification . Experience with diesel engines required . Ability to speak and write English Education . High School Diploma .
