Job Title:

Diesel/Pump Mechanic Job Description The Service Mechanic – is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner at our Service Shop, Customer job site, or via phone. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, servicing, and operation of diesel equipment. Troubleshoot diesel engine and pump problems. Conduct initial inspections of fleet equipment for possible damages, diagnose damages, and report them to the Service Manager. Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality. Assist with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed and perform start-up duties to ensure any issues are resolved. Perform related duties as assigned. Essential Skills Diesel experience and/or training or a combination of education, training, and experience. General diesel engine component location and identification. Diagnosing basic mechanical problems. Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures. Basic mechanical aptitude. Effective communication skills with customers, co-workers, and managers both verbally and in writing. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Work Environment The work environment may frequently be outdoors with exposure to weather extremities. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, with potential exposures to hazardous materials and loud noise. The role includes physical demands such as regularly sitting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. This position may also require frequent travel to customer sites and being on-call as a regular part of the job. Standard weekly job hours are 40 hours.
