• Diesel Mechanic Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Diesel Mechanic Shop Supervisor at a local sawmill for immediate hire in Raleigh, NC.

This opportunity is at a sawmill in Raleigh and is seeking a shop supervisor to oversee shop staff and diesel mechanics to maintain and repair equipment related to delivery trucks and diesel equipment. Interested? Text “Supervisor” to Jacob at 321-418-6504!

HOURS:

Shifts will be 8 hour days starting at 7AM

SCHEDULE

Work will be Monday-Friday; at least 40 hours per week

Diesel Mechanic Job Description:

Oversee day-to-day operations of the diesel mechanic shop at the sawmill. Supervise, train, and evaluate diesel mechanics and maintenance staff. Schedule and prioritize equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize production downtime. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in diesel-powered machinery. Maintain service records, work orders, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules. Coordinate with mill management and production supervisors to align maintenance priorities with operational needs. Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet safety, environmental, and company standards. Monitor shop productivity, parts usage, and equipment availability. Qualifications for

Shop Supervisor:

Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems. 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role. Extensive experience with heavy equipment common in sawmill operations (e.g., log loaders, skidders, forklifts, diesel trucks). Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be able to safely use hand/power tools and PPE Must be able to perform job duties that require standing, crouching, twisting upper body, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Position requires basic mechanic tools and the use of PPE, including: Steel-Toe work boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves. Additional Requirements for
