Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild,replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment(i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates,etc.).Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete allrequired repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers,bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).Perform preventativemaintenance within company standards.
Complete documentation of allrepair orders, PM list and parts accountability.
Handle road servicecalls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Keep trackof assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Faxsystem.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliancewith workplace safety rules and regulations and governmentguidelines.
Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.
Backup toother maintenance shop personnel.
Willingness and capacity to assumeincreased responsibility and certifications.
Performs other dutiesas assigned.
Must have (3) years of verifiable hands-on experienceas a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or acombination of both; or (2) years verifiable hands-on experiencewith either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/CarrierRefrigeration Certification or both.Diagnostic and troubleshootingcompetency relating to equipment repairs.
Successfully demonstratedindependent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Prior experiencein administering appropriate PM program.
Must furnish own personalhand tools.
CDL A and DOT certifiedpreferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to comply with EPA andOSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.
Ability toread and understand technical and service manuals.
Excellentcommunication skills; able to communicate with co-workers anddrivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.
Ability to managemultiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment withminimal supervision.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational andoperational needs.
Computer and software experience.
Ability to worka flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Must be able towork overtime when needed.
Compensation depends on relevantexperience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographiclocation, and other factors as applicable by law.
- The expectedbase rate for this role is between $35.00 and $40.00.This role willalso receive overtime compensation
