Diesel Technician Van Buren Buick Gmc 2257 Jericho Turnpike, New Hyde Park, NY 11040 Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and a passion for maintaining and servicing heavy-duty vehicles. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs per GM policy and procedure, and ensuring that our customer vehicles operate efficiently and safely. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems. Perform routine maintenance on 1500-3500 light and heavy duty vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. . Operate industrial equipment safely while performing repairs or maintenance tasks. Collaborate with team members to complete service requests efficiently and effectively. Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed on vehicles. Ensure a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications Proven experience in diesel engine repair or as a service technician in a dealership environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of automotive repair principles and practices related to heavy-duty vehicles. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for various tasks, including moving parts or equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. A valid driver’s license is required; General Motors certifications related to diesel technology are a plus.
