Paid Vacation and Holidays Diesel Mechanic PositionSummary:
This position is required to safely and accurately perform generalproperty and vehicle maintenance & repair duties in and around theshop operations in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge andunderstanding basic preventative maintenance and repair techniquesof Class 5 through Class 8 commercial vehicles to include tanktrailer inspection and maintenance related to the Federal MotorCarrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations is required.
Diesel Mechanic Essential Functions:
All fleet mechanic positions will be required to perform vehiclemaintenance & repair duties safely and accurately in and around theshop operations in a fast-paced environment. Fleet Mechanic Apprentices will receive hands on training andinstruction on preventive maintenance/inspections/repairs of Class5 through Class 8 Commercial Vehicles and maintenance/inspection oftank trailers. Fleet Mechanic Levels I & II will learn and become proficientutilizing the company’s maintenance software program to create andcomplete work orders and maintain work order/vehicle maintenancerecords. They will also train/assist other technicians inperforming preventive/repair of facilities and equipment to includetrucks, tractors, and trailers. Fleet Mechanic Level III will build on the duties from DieselMechanic I/II and become qualified as necessary with appropriatecertifications to perform new technology evaluations, diagnosis,and repairs. HM183 will build on the duties of a Level III Diesel Mechanic,Certified as a (DOT) commercial motor vehicle inspector incompliance with FMCSR’s Has been signing test forms as the Registered Inspector for atleast 3 years.

Fleet Mechanic Level I, II, and III Positions:
Valid Driver’s License Minimum 1 – 5 years of experience in heavy-duty vehiclemaintenance/repair (Tech levels will be determined by years ofexperience and certifications) Holds a current Air Brake Certification in compliance withFMSCR 396.25 or has at least 1 year of verifiable experience withthe ability to obtain Air Brake Certification through
KAG EPA 609
certification (Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Repair)or the ability to obtain certification through KAG Requirements forHM183
Positions:
