TheApprentice provides maintenance, repairs vehicles and equipment, andmainly focuses on preventative maintenance and maintaining the safety ofall vehicles and equipment. The Diesel Technician Apprentice willcontinue in this role until they compete all training requirements.
- Key Responsibilities
- Gains an understanding of basic parts, processes, and maintenance techniques as instructed by knowledgeable technicians
- Learns how to complete all work orders, perform maintenance tasks based on driver pre and post trip inspections in a timely manner
- Performs all job duties in accordance with company safety policies and regulations to ensure safe operations
- Assists senior level technicians in performing preventative Maintenance Inspections
- Aids senior level technicians on larger projects
- Learns how to thoroughly identify defects requiring correction, which would affect the availability of the equipment and the safety of the equipment operator
- Adjusts brakes, clutches, and other utilities that are part of the vehicle or other equipment
- Adjusts hydraulic pressures and other hydraulic components of any equipment
- Performs tire changes and repairs on vehicles and equipment
- Builds, rebuilds or replaces hydraulic components and hoses of any vehicle or stationary equipment
- Learns how to perform accurate lockout/tagout procedures
- Participates in training and other learning opportunities to expand knowledge of the company, products, sales and services and performs any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and/or abide by our core values.

Technician Apprentice:
- Demonstrates the ability to work alongside aknowledgeable Casella Waste Diesel Technician to learn and furtherdevelop skills. The Apprentice provides maintenance, repairs vehiclesand equipment, and mainly focuses on preventative maintenance andmaintaining the safety of all vehicles and equipment.

Technician B:
- Demonstrates the ability to identify operating issuesincluding examining, test driving and troubleshooting electrical andmechanical problems using standard testing procedures and computerdiagnostic equipment. Technician also demonstrates the ability tocorrect any operating issues that are found.

Technician A:
- Demonstrates the ability to inspect, troubleshoot,and repair vehicle brakes, suspension, steering, tires, rims, hubs, PTO,hydraulics, engine, cooling, starting, ignition, charging, lightingsystems, fuel and air intake systems, heating, ventilation, and coolingsystems to ensure vehicles are in safe and dependable operatingcondition.

Master Technician:
- Demonstrates the ability to inspect,troubleshoot, and repair all vehicle and equipment systems. Can rebuildand replace engines, engine components, transmissions, drive line andrear-ends, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydrauliccomponents.
- Education, Experience & Qualifications
- The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, must beat least 18 years of age, hold a valid Class A, B, or C Driverslicense,have a basic knowledge or experience in automotive, diesel orheavy equipment diagnostics and repairand must be legally eligible towork in the United States.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective listeningand problem-solving skills, and dedication to providing excellentcustomer service is desired. It is also important that the candidate hasdemonstrated the ability to work as part of a team in a collaborativ environment.
- This position requires successful completion of pre-employmenttesting, including a drug screen.
