Class Summary Job Description
This position will be required to perform work on highly specialized equipment, installing and maintaining electrical/electronic devices, measuring and controlling instrumentation and plant process control systems associated with Pumping and Booster stations, water and wastewater plants. This position will provide training and technical support, and direct personnel in the proper repair/replacement of equipment. The candidate must be able to trouble-shoot equipment to determine the cause of any problems and make accurate and timely decision with respect to repairs and/or replacements. The position may also act as a liaison between the department and on-site contractors. Other Job Requirements/Information
This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace. This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.

Minimum Qualifications Trades Tech II:

High school diploma or GED
Two years of trades experience Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job;
Class A Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Valid driver’s license.

Trades Tech III:

High school diploma or GED
Four years of trades experience
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Class A Commercial Driver’s License must be obtained within 12 months of employment
Valid driver’s license

Trades Tech IV:

High school diploma, or GED
Valid driver’s license;
Five years of progressively responsible trades experience, some of which is in a supervisory capacity;
or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above;
