Transformer Technician Lead 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Selma, NC 27576 Required Skills & Experience 4+ years relevant field experience Technical experience with high voltage equipment Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent Knowledge of Gas Insulated Switchgear – pertaining to construction of electrical systems Ability to read electrical schematics/drawings and installation instructions Ability to communicate well with customers and managers Management/supervisorial experience – must be willing and able to direct a team Comfortable traveling across United States in order to complete projects Position requires around 80% travel Nice to Have Skills & Experience Knowledge of International standards/regulations (DIN, VDE, IEC, ASME) Hands-on experience working on high voltage substation equipment Professional experience performing installation work on SF6 gas insulated switchgears Certificate for installation of high voltage GIS Systems Testing/Commissioning experience is a plus Job Description Insight Global is seeking to hire a GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) Field Supervisor for one of our prominent energy clients located in Selma, NC. This candidate will be responsible for overseeing high voltage electrical installations at various manufacturing plants. This role includes the installation of high voltage gas insulated switchgears and the commissioning/testing of specialized switching devices, such as phase synchronization devices and camera systems. Additionally, the Field Supervisor will lead a small team of field technicians, providing expert insights and guidance as needed. Someone who has a strong understanding of electrical engineering, electrical schematics, installation instructions, and electrical testing, and can communicate well to customers and coworkers would be a great fit for this position!
