Job Description – Relay Technician Coordinator (250000EC) Relay Technician Coordinator – (250000EC)
Description The Relay Technician Coordinator will train, direct, and supervise the activities of subordinates engaged in the testing, repairing, programming, installation, and maintenance of relays, supervisory control systems, distributed automation, and power coordination equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Train, direct, and supervise employees within the area of responsibility, having the authority to appraise performance, discipline, handle grievances, and other managerial functions. Schedule, assign, and coordinate the installation, troubleshooting, testing, Maintenance/repair of relays, supervisory control equipment, and various electric, gas, and water digital/analog protection controls. Coordinate with other areas internal and external. Monitor work to ensure an adequate quantity/quality of work is achieved; provide information and instructions to subordinates. present outages and relay reports to management for fault events. Analyze wiring/schematic/engineering drawings to lay out safe and efficient work plans for relay and coordination control systems; calculate relay test values; program relay digital equipment; evaluate new equipment and test sets; coordinate and manage fault studies and relay checks. Coordinate, manage, and oversee the programming of distribution automation, cap bank, and all other programmable relay devices on the distribution system. Responsible for daily safety and work field visits of crews; responsible for overall management of safe work practices for all crews. Prepare necessary paperwork such as WOs, performance appraisals, absence reports, requisitions, payment reconciliations, etc. Operate division vehicle, equipment, radio, and Computer. Perform other duties as directed. Qualifications A valid driver’s license from the state of residence is required.
