$100,000 – $135,000 I’m working with a Medical Device Manufacturing company who are on the lookout for an Field Service Engineer to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This is a medium sized pharmaceutical company, but they are investing heavily in their staff and their infrastructure to be able to grow into a well-known household brand. This company already has a global presence and works with a wide array of clients themselves. These vary from small startups to some of the biggest names in the world, and you could be a part of this growing company. Responsibilities :
- Traveling to hospitals and research centers across the U.S.
- Performing routine maintenance on-site and working directly with customers to schedule regular service and handle any other maintenance needs for devices.
- Troubleshooting and fixing devices either on-site or back at the workshop.
- Running installation tests, post-repair soak tests, and final checks, and making sure all paperwork is completed properly, following good documentation practices and quality standards.
- Making sure all service jobs and site visits are finished on time.
- Helping out with major repairs or device upgrades at the USA workshop when needed.
- Occasionally stepping in to handle urgent technical issues for devices outside the U.S. if the assigned engineer isn’t available.
- Working with the Senior Field Service Engineer to keep the right amount of spare parts and supplies on hand to support U.S.-based devices.
- Managing a local parts stockroom and trunk stock within the U.S., following the direction of the Director of Field Service Engineering.
- Taking care of the maintenance and calibration of test gear, battery calibrators, tools, and accessories needed for technical work in the U.S.
- Filling out all the required technical documentation to meet medical device regulations and standards.
- Writing clear and detailed technical reports.
- Helping the Product Support Manager keep technical files and device history records up to date.
- Making sure you meet all vendor credentialing requirements.
- Following Code of Conduct and company policies, both in spirit and practice.
Essential Experience:
- At least three years of hands-on experience working on medical devices or other complex, critical equipment.
- Solid all-around knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proven ability to figure out and solve technical problems.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and comfortable working with people from different backgrounds.
- Able to write clear, well-organized technical reports with good grammar and formatting.
- Open to traveling around the U.S. for service, repairs, troubleshooting, and other device-related work as needed.
- Willing to travel on short notice and stay overnight for a few days at a time. On average, travel will take up about 10% of your work time.
- Ready to work outside of normal hours—including weekends and public holidays—if needed to support customers.
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and be able to drive rental cars funded by the company.
- Comfortable speaking and writing in English (a must).
- Friendly, easy to talk to, and great with people.
- Willing to take on a lot of responsibility.
- Pays close attention to what’s going on and how things are done.
- Good at breaking down problems and figuring out the best solution.
- Comfortable working solo in hospital or lab settings.
