Your responsibilities will include conducting high voltage testing and on-site partial discharge diagnostics, as well as managing the installation process. Additionally, you will be responsible for commissioning specialized switching devices such as phase synchronizing units and integrated monitoring systems (e.g., cameras), and for providing training to contractors and customers to ensure safe and effective operation of the equipment. How You’ll Make an Impact Execute commissioning of components and systems in accordance with approved commissioning programs and procedures Perform high voltage testing and, when required, partial discharge measurements on fully installed and commissioned GIS equipment Monitor and track commissioning schedules, providing regular progress reports and updates on key activities Identify, address, and resolve technical issues that arise during the commissioning process Prepare and maintain accurate “as-built” documentation for all commissioned systems Provide training and guidance to junior or subordinate commissioning personnel to ensure competency and adherence to standards What You Bring Minimum 2 years of technical experience in commissioning process engineering systems and partial discharge measurement on Siemens AG projects Proficient in working within intercultural environments Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification Solid knowledge of GIS construction and electrical system design Completed professional training in commissioning SF₆ gas-insulated switchgear Certified in high-voltage testing procedures Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization (Siemens Energy employees with existing visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfer) About the Team Grid Technologies Our Grid Technology division enables a reliable, sustainable, and digital grid.
