This position will support areas from Birmingham to Atlanta.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure all operations adhere to industry best practices for safety (by OSHA standards) Work independently or as part of a team with no supervision Responding to customer callouts and field dispatches as dispatched Serves customer relationships by understanding work order requests, investigating complaints, conducting tests, resolving problems, and communicating with customer representatives to coordinate maintenance activities Diagnose complex problems and perform maintenance, and repair faulty equipment for package handling systems in industrial settings Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance as needed Fabricate and install intermediate-level steel fabrication work Generate service reports that explain the work provided, parts provided, and clear understanding of the issue, the solution, and any follow-up needed. Completes timesheets, expense reports, and parts lists as needed. All done in a timely and professional manner. Maintains an organized work vehicle with necessary tools, manuals and parts required to provide efficient repairs and installations Use various tools and equipment, including test instruments, calibration equipment, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment, to perform maintenance tasks Mentor Field Service Technician I and Field Service Technician II employees whenever possible

Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities, and Competencies:

Complete pre-employment skills evaluation consistent with Field Service Technician III capabilities Ability to provide both customers safe, clean, reliable, on-time, courteous service Knowledge of the applicable occupational hazards and safety precautions Experience with troubleshooting electromechanical systems and automated equipment Must possess intermediate-level electrical controls theory and be able to read electrical drawings and schematics to troubleshoot systems, repair or replace components, and perform setup of discrete control devices Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, materials, tools, and equipment of the industrial maintenance trade Must be able to weld steel, including light gauge stainless, at an intermediate level Advance understanding of machines and their systems to include but not limited to pneumatic, hydraulic, bearings, levers, channels, pulleys, cams, and camshafts Basic experience with Control systems utilizing Allen Bradley, Siemens and B&R PLC’s Electromechanical experience with conveyance systems, understanding sensors, electric motors and how they interact Ability to use five senses to detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisor and customer Proficient with the use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances Ability to interpret layouts, drawings, blueprints, P&ID’s manufacturer’s specifications, and other technical plans Professional appearance and demeanor Ability to lift, carry, and handle items weighing up to 50lbs frequently Ability to understand, execute, and give oral and written instructions Strong problem-solving skills Ability to handle multiple priorities Ability to travel to client locations and be “on call” at certain times

Required Education, Training, and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Documented 6-10yrs of experience as industrial maintenance technician or related trade experience or military training (electrical, mechanical, electronics) Computer literacy: competency in use of all programs within Microsoft Office products and aptitude for learning specialized software programs Must have or obtain OSHA10-Construction certification within 90 days of hire Must have valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and pass a pre-employment drug screen Personal Tools Required to be Provided by the
