The role of Field Media Services Technician services air and water treatment systems in an array of industrial and construction related settings. Sites settings and locations will vary and provide valuable experience on how and why these systems operate. All necessary training and certifications will be provided. Help the environment by servicing the systems responsible for cleaning up contaminated water and air and filtering the public’s drinking water supply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Represent Newterra in a professional and courteous manner. 2. Service activities include preparing for and executing carbon exchange services. 3. Travel to site via vehicle or air flight, including driving company vehicle and towing required equipment. 4. Travel to various job sites in a company provided vehicle. 5. Driving and positioning trucks loaded with equipment under 26,000 lbs. 6. Positioning and connecting hoses and equipment. 7. Operating truck mounted and skid mounted vacuum systems. 8. Communicate with technicians, contractors and project managers. 9. Promote Newterra’s services for repeat site visits and routine maintenance. 10. Warehouse duties such as, general maintenance (cleaning, sweeping, organizing), unloading and storing inventory, dumping and bagging spent medias, assembly, shipping and receiving.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Adhere to the company policies and processes and bring forward ideas for continuous improvement. Responsible for completing all assigned training applicable to your position in the applicable timeframe. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace. Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner and promoting safety to others in accordance with Newterra’s safety policies and procedures. This includes reporting all safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, near-misses, and incidents to their manager immediately. Complete all responsibilities while ensuring adherence to Newterra’s Delegation of Authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites and must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a company vehicle. Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record Passing of D.O.T. Physical – determination that no pre-existing conditions (back, shoulder, elbow, knee, etc.) or weaknesses exist, such as a restriction of movement that would impede accomplishing job duties as indicated. Ability wear and qualify for the use of ½ and full face air purifying respirators (APR). Drug & Alcohol screen Preferred but not required: Prior experience with vacuum systems Class A CDL Prior OSHA certifications and confined space training Prior experience operating forklifts and aerial lifts (scissor lifts, manlifts, etc.).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Verbal and written communication skills. Motivated self-starter with result driven approach. Proven mechanical aptitude. Ability to travel Monday – Friday, including overnight, and some weekends, as needed. Capable of actively listening and following direction and instructions. Detail oriented with ability to creatively solve technical challenges and manage timelines. Strong decision-making skills. Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal. Positive attitude with a desire for growth and success. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to lift 55lbs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crawl, stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time. Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus), smell, hear and touch. Use of hands to control, handle and operate equipment. Accurate hand/eye coordination. Finger dexterity, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull up to 55 lbs. Working in tight spaces, confined spaces, and elevated surfaces. Wearing full and ½ face respirators and Tyvek coveralls while working in hot & cold conditions. The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of equipment to maneuver or position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments. Field work on outdoor and indoor sites involving long-term standing, sitting and repetitive motions, confined spaces, and working from heights. Use of power tools. Use of heavy equipment including forklifts and aerial lifts. Working in areas with known hazardous chemicals and potentially hazardous conditions.
