The Field Service Technician, Reactive Lead will provide support to the Cardinal Equipment Service Department performing essential mechanical duties and department functions. In addition, the Field Service Technician, Reactive Lead will be responsible for the training and development of junior level technicians with the expectation of expanding both capabilities and capacity. Persons in this role must be proven Subject Matter Experts (SME) on multiple beverage applications and possess the ability to effectively communicate, train and develop co-workers on a wide variety of assignments associated with – but not limited to beverage, ice, and water filtration installation, removal, repair, and relocation. This role will be responsible for providing and implementing actionable development plans to leadership as needed for the overall success of individuals, the team, and the department. Possess the ability to seek innovative methods to lead industry standards, driving effectiveness and cost-saving efficiencies whenever possible. Additional responsibilities include parts and equipment accountability, resource management, customer relations, job site surveys and working closely with customers and co-workers. This position will require flexibility to work various schedules and travel with overnight lodging likely. Travel will include domestic and international as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Hands-on Classroom Formal and Field Technical Training. Employee Assessment and Development Planning with Leadership. SME on Various Beverage Equipment Platforms. Parts and Equipment Accountability and Forecast Planning. Maintain positive customer and co-worker relationships. Record and account for billable time, parts and services related to work assignments. Position requires flexibility to work various shifts including days, nights, weekends, and travel as required to accomplish department goals and objectives. Book and schedule travel arrangement as required. Complete expense reports per guidelines Comply with all Company/DOT vehicle policies. Smith-System, Geotab, Lytx (Dashcams), etc. Adhere to company policies, guidelines, and safety requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to train, lead, motivate and develop junior level technicians Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Basic computer skills Use of basic hand tools, electric and battery drills, and saws Ability to use refrigeration tools and equipment Ability to use a lift cart and ladder
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 5 years advanced beverage related mechanical service experience required. Remote Cooled, Hot and Frozen Beverage, Liquor, Wine, Draft Beer Advanced beverage related plumbing and electrical experience required. Ice maker installation and reactive service experience. Basic computer skills. Valid Drivers’ license and driving record within MVR policy guidelines. Valid Passport. EPA or Universal Refrigeration Certification.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate lifting, bending, climbing, and stretching.
