Field Service Technician DRI Systems Saint Cloud, FL 34771
Job Summary:
This is a contract-based, per-job role for a Field Service Assistant Technician in the Orlando, FL Area. The technician will be travelling with a Lead Tech to multiple client sites across the US to install equipment and repairing network data lines at customer sites. This position requires nationwide travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software at client locations. Perform Cat6 cabling installations, including in-wall installations, running cables through suspended ceilings, and other structures as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with IT systems, networks, and devices. Perform routine maintenance and system updates to ensure optimal performance. Provide clear and professional communication with clients to address concerns and offer solutions. Document service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and completed tasks. Collaborate with the support team to escalate and resolve complex issues. Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards during service visits.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in a field service or technical support role. Basic knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and software troubleshooting. Must have experience with Cat6 cabling, including in-wall installations and ceiling runs. Must be familiar with legacy telco cabling and equipment. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S and hold a valid Driver’s License. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Required Tools and Equipment:
Contractors must provide their own set of tools, including: Hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, cable cutters, etc.) Drills and drill bits, including extended drill bits and extensions for drilling inside closed walls Cable crimper, punch-down tool Headlamp, rubber mallet, cable tacker, hammer
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent. Experience with structured networks, access control, and/or CCTV systems. Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote troubleshooting tools.
Availability & Travel:
Must be available Mon-Fri, 8 AM – 5 PM to respond to job requests. Must be willing to travel nationwide.
