Choppa Field Service is a dynamic field service business based in the Port St. Lucie area. We partner with professional land surveyors, providing reliable and efficient field support to help them complete their projects successfully. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Field Service Technician with 1-2 years of experience providing field support for land surveying operations. As a 1099 contractor, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the field to assist surveyors in gathering accurate data and completing their fieldwork efficiently. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

Assisting survey crews with various field tasks as directed. Operating and maintaining surveying equipment (e.g., GPS receivers, total stations, data collectors) under supervision. Setting up and taking down survey control points, stakes, and other markers. Clearing lines of sight and ensuring accessibility of survey locations. Accurately recording field data and observations. Transporting equipment and supplies to and from job sites. Adhering to safety regulations and procedures at all times. Communicating effectively with survey crews and project managers. Maintaining a professional and positive attitude while representing Choppa Field Service. Potentially performing other field-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

1-2 years of demonstrable experience in providing field service support for land surveyors. Familiarity with basic land surveying principles and practices. Experience operating and maintaining common surveying equipment is highly desirable. Ability to read and understand site plans and survey maps (preferred). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in field measurements and data recording. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate different terrains. Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills. Must be eligible to work as a 1099 independent contractor in Florida. We look forward to hearing from you!
