Job Summary:
The Field Technician 1 is responsible for assisting in start-up and commissioning, preventative maintenance, integration, emergency breakdown repair and basic troubleshooting of Electrical Switchgear and Controls. Mechanical repair and structural modification may also be required. This position requires extensive travel. Also, the technician is required to travel extensively and must be able to work overtime including overnight stays for extended periods of time. Job Status (FLSA):

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The following list of responsibilities is not all inclusive, additional projects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. DVM retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position should operational needs warrant. Works independently or in a group to accomplish successful execution of a Field Project. Appropriately completes service reports, document repairs, and update equipment records. Communicates with senior technical leadership as well as internal departments to ensure all project requirements are being met. Understands and follow all safety protocols to ensure a clean safety record. Responsible for the timely preparation and submission of budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking documentation. This includes generating invoices, field reports, and project closeout documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
General knowledge of Low Voltage Circuit Breakers. Proficient in the use of basic electrical test equipment (Voltmeter, Megger, Ammeter, etc.) Basic knowledge of control wiring installation, routing and terminating. Basic ability to read and correctly interpret schematics/wiring diagrams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Provide excellent customer service. Seeking guidance from field service leadership on client communications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Basic experience in the use of electrical testing/monitoring equipment Basic computer skills (Outlook, word, excel, Adobe)
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 1 year of industry experience. Valid Driver’s License. Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.
Physical Requirements :
The work environment can vary with seasonal weather conditions (hot summers/cold winters). May be exposed to loud machinery or equipment and hazardous materials, hearing protection may be required. Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), which may involve wearing safety glasses, gloves, and other protective gear. Must be able to communicate effectively using phones or computer software. Must be able to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, reach and lift at a minimum of 50lbs. Must be comfortable with navigating cramped or restricted areas. Position requires dexterity, ability to use hands skillfully. Working at heights often involves navigating uneven surfaces, narrow platforms, and potentially unstable environments. Strong balance and coordination are crucial to prevent falls. Adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), which may involve wearing safety glasses, gloves, and other protective gear. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities. Must be able to travel frequently between DVM locations as needed, extensive travel including overnight stays required.
