Field Service Technician Summary:

Our Field Service Technicians will solve problems and provide outstanding customer service. They will perform inspections, repairs and maintenance on Apache Sprayers and other related application equipment both in our shop and remotely at customers’ sites. (Traveling approximately 70% of the time.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Attend to the needs of our customers to ensure customer satisfaction while keeping company interests in mind. Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on agricultural equipment in our Batesville, MS service shop and at remote locations according to the company’s scheduling system. Assist the inbound phone support staff and supervisors relating to work prioritization, scheduling, and dispatch. Assist sales personnel with product demonstrations, customer training, startup services and more. Learn precision ag systems and components such that customers rely on you as a valuable resource in their proper use. Accurately maintain inventory by following company procedures for parts receiving, inventory relief, return of goods, and inventory movement tracking. Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of company owned and leased assets and facilities. Keep current with all company produced documents, connect with vendor and industry related sources to stay up to date and seize opportunities for training and betterment.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Positive minded individual Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Constructively work with fellow employees and customers. Be flexible to prioritization changes and travel on short notice. Computer literate with general Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and have a willingness and ability to learn the needed functions of a business software package or specific applications related to our work. 3-5 years minimum experience in repair related work, ex: industrial maintenance, heavy equipment repair, ag equipment repair, truck & bus maintenance, and repair. Air conditioning certificate or be willing and able to obtain one within 30 days of hire. Own or purchase upon hire a mechanic’s tool set as specified by the company; specialized tools will be provided. Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Educational Requirements:

– High school diploma or equivalent. A technical school or college diploma or certificate is preferred. Expected Hours of Work – The hours of work for our technicians will vary greatly throughout the year and will reflect the needs of our customers and work backlog. In the off-season one can expect a standard 40-50-hour work week, M-F. In-season this can expand to 60-70 hours + per week to include many Saturdays and potentially holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th). Working on Sundays will be avoided if possible. Travel – There will be some amount of travel throughout the state. Overnight travel may occur occasionally in season but is not expected to impact more than 1-2 nights at a time. Company and outside training opportunities will require some travel. It is not expected that this travel will impact more than 1-2 weeks per year once the initial training period is concluded. Work Environment – The work environment will be varied and dependent upon the day to day needs of the business. Most of the time will be spent in the shop, however, the environment will include working in a variety of weather conditions exposed to cold, heat, rain, sun and more (if at a customers’ site). The work will be physically demanding requiring the lifting of parts exceeding 50 lbs., standing, bending, and reaching most every day.
