Job Description

Field Service Technician Taylor Freezer of Chesapeake Jacksonville, NC Our Service Technicians earn between $60,000-$95,000 annually. See a short list below of some of the benefits we offer that other businesses do not! Taylor Freezer of Chesapeake is a distributor for Taylor Company. We sell and service Taylor equipment throughout the states of Virginia and North Carolina. Therefore, our service technicians will need to have a valid driver’s license in good standing as they will be servicing equipment throughout the Virginia and North Carolina areas. We have many national accounts with required response times. Therefore, all service technicians are subject to overtime to fulfill our required responses to our customer’s calls. Occasional overnight stays may also be required when servicing equipment in distant parts of the state. Service technicians are subject to an “on call” rotation on holidays. Customer service is paramount and like all employees, service technicians are expected to maintain and enhance our customer relationship. Pleasant, respectful, and helpful attitudes and approaches are required. All employees are representatives of the company. But service technicians have a special opportunity since they are on-site working with the customer personally. They are the primary contact with the customer. All employees begin with a probationary period of 90 days. But due to the technical aspects of the position, service technicians also go through a field training period riding along and working with other technicians to get experience with different equipment, technology, processes, and procedures. There are also mandatory training programs all technicians must attend at our factory in Rockton, IL to become a certified Taylor Company service technician. This is a one-week program held annually, working with different equipment, new models, and gaining other information necessary to be an effective Taylor service technician. The following describes some of the typical activities of a service technician. The service technician will be assigned other activities as needed by the Service Manager and Dispatcher. Deliver and install equipment to client sites as directed by the Service Manager & Dispatcher. Service equipment at client sites as directed by the Service Manager & Dispatcher. This includes repairs, warranty work, preventive maintenance, updates, and other service work. Activities involve adjusting, aligning, assembling, calibrating, inspecting, lubrication, and testing equipment to troubleshoot for electrical, mechanical, and electronics issues to find solutions to operational issues. Responsible for maintaining company-owned vehicle and the stock of inventory. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
