Overview:

Provide excellent customer service performing installations, calibrations, and repairs on industrial scales and other weighing equipment at customer sites and/or equipment in one of our facilities. The weighing equipment we support ranges from grams to tons and the industries we service are typical industrial based manufacturing companies covering multiple market segments such as aggregates, agriculture, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, discrete, and other industries. The types of scales range from laboratory balances all the way through railroad track scales including but not limited to bench, floor, tanks, hoppers, silos, truck, moisture balances and many other types of scales. Follow all aspects of our quality and safety policies and/or procedures as well as site specific customer safety training. The work performed at customer sites and environment varies depending on where the equipment is located. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions and may have to work extended hours when necessary.

Job Functions:

• Perform calibration and preventative maintenance functions on industrial scales and other weighing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial weighing equipment without supervision as training and skills permit.
• Train customers of proper operation of industrial weighing equipment and associated peripherals.
• Complete and submit all work orders and calibration certificates daily.
• Work overtime and on a rotating on-call schedule including nights and weekends based on customer demand.
• Repeated lifting of up to 50 lbs. / 20 kgs. test weights while bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and/or standing.
• Follow policies and procedures outlined in the Company Employee Handbook as well as the Quality Manual.

Other Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License, Class B CDL preferred, with acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
• Successfully pass random drug tests/screenings.
• Maintain company vehicle service and maintenance records and notify supervisor/manager of any needed repairs or upcoming required services.
• Common set of basic hand tools required.
• Specialty tools (voltmeter, larger than 1″ wrenches, portable jacks, load cell simulator, etc.) required to successfully complete work assigned is provided by Atlantic Scale Company.
• General knowledge of all types of hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic controlled devices.
• Strong mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills.
• Facilitate business development by increasing the service provided at customer accounts as well as communicating the risk of maintaining obsolete equipment due to parts shortages and long lead times to replace the unit, should it fail.
• Any other duties assigned by management or supervisor.
