GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Beta Star Service Technician performs off-site and on-site troubleshooting, on-site preventative maintenance, repairs, installations and equipment modification for the customer’s Life Science Equipment. Provide excellent customer service by proactively communicating with customers daily. Utilize technology to complete service call reports and other administrative duties as required.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES

Participate in customer/contractor safety orientation training and abide by all Beta Star Customer Health and Safety protocols and procedures. Ensure professionalism in both appearance and behavior is always maintained. Perform on-site customer preventative maintenance and repair as needed Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and rebuild/refurbish industrial sterilization, and washing equipment and system components. Teach and train customers on routine equipment operation and performance. Increase company growth by identifying sales opportunities, recommending appropriate products and services to the customer. Identify new potential customers in the local service area.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

General knowledge of the following: principles and methods of sterilization, steam generators, industrial controls, central processing systems. Basic knowledge and experience with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Excellent interpersonal skills Strong technical and troubleshooting skills Ability to develop and maintain a positive rapport with a variety of customers Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Good Time management skills. Flexibility to handle multiple and changing priorities. Able to work in a team environment. Experience using hand and power tools. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written skills OSHA 30 Certification in Construction Safety is preferred, but not required. 5+ years of capital equipment service preferred Valid drivers license and Real ID for travel purposes

EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel domestically in the US up to 75% of the time, including overnight and longer stays High School Diploma or GED, required Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred in the electronic, electrical, mechanical, or similar fields 1 to 2 years related experience. Lifting up to 110lbs, bending, squatting, sitting, standing, and twisting Flexible scheduling may be required to accommodate customer needs Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment for RVI and customer sites Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
