is the leading producer of Fire and Smoke Curtains and Fire-Rated Conveyor Closure Systems in the world. We are looking for a skilled Field Service Technician to install, repair and provide service for our products on construction sites and in factories across the country. While most of our work is currently “East of the Mississippi”, we do find ourselves working all over the country and our Field Service Technicians do as well.

THIS IS DEFINITELY A ROAD WARRIOR POSITION, WITH OVERNIGHT TRAVEL REQUIRED FOUR NIGHTS PER WEEK ON MOST WEEKS.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Install our full range of products in a wide variety of construction settings. Assist customers in passing their inspections to achieve occupancy of new buildings by facilitating testing of our equipment for inspectors and AHJ’s. Resolve customer complaints. Examine equipment and determine needed services, or repairs. Provide customer training on proper use of equipment. Accurately evaluate problems both mechanical and electrical and implement the needed repairs. Implement testing using test meters and hand tools to diagnose failures. Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements for functionality and safety. Identify and present opportunities for additional support of company products and services to the customer. Commute in company vehicle and at times long distances.

Requirements:

Strong working knowledge in the mechanical and electrical field Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, hydraulic and pneumatic technology Ability to effectively use and read measuring instruments, such as multi-meter, amp meter, micrometers and calipers Ability to establish effective rapport with all levels of employees and customers Ability to take initiative and organize your own work independently Competent customer service skills, with the ability to analyze the root cause and find permanent solutions to issues Ability to engage in extensive customer interaction Solid computer skills, MS Office Applications and Windows programs Solid written and verbal communication skills

Experience and Education Requirements:

At least 3 years of Field Service and/or Industrial maintenance career experience High School diploma or GED is required Valid driver’s license Mechanical and maintenance experience Experience and Education preferences: Associates degree or technical training in a related field PLC and Electrical experience is required Strong communication skills

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$29 -32.00 per hour depending on experience
