This position reports to
Systems Drives Operations Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines.
The work model for the role is: remote.
This position is contributing to Process Industries in the Georgia/Southern region.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Installation supervision according to manufacturer’s specifications of new equipment at customer sites.
- Interprets maintenance manuals, schematics, and software tools. Repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using test instruments, computers, and hand tools.
- Lead workers in servicing and repair of ABB equipment. As required, instruct customer in electrical theory and operation of ABB Drives. Lead drive system commissioning projects.
- Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.
Qualifications for the role
Associates degree in a related field and 2+ years of related work/military experience required. Or HS diploma/GED and 4+ years of related work/military experience required.
Understanding of AC and DC drive systems.
Experience:
performing field service engineering for AC and DC coordinated drive systems; and using test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. Work with ABB 800xA is a plus.
