Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a fiber construction groundman. In this entry-level role, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground telecommunications infrastructure. This position offers opportunities for career growth and training in a fast-paced, outdoor work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation of underground telecommunications fiber, conduits, and associated equipment.
• Safely operate tools and equipment such as trenchers, jackhammers, compactors, and drills.
• Dig trenches, lay conduit, and backfill as required.
• Work in an outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and near moving traffic.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on existing underground networks.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
• Conduct site clean-up and restoration to ensure project areas are left in good condition.
• Participate in safety meetings and training programs as required.

Potential for overtime and weekend work based on project needs.

Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn
• Understand installation methods (underground boring, aerial placement, splicing, etc.) a plus but not required
• Ability to read prints a plus
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills a plus
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus!)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
